A Liberal Mormom Questions Journalists

SALT LAKE CITY 5 July 2007 The increasing media attention devoted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has led many journalists to explore Mormon history. Some of them have questioned the miraculous aspects of the faith and have inquired as to why Latter-day Saints continue to believe them as reality and not myth.
Follow the link above to read the rest of this article at the newsroom. This is the best place to find out what is happening with the Mormons.

Whats not to believe?
Latter-Day-Saints believe the Gospel Of Jesus Christ could not be practiced and the purposes of God would be corrupted if man did not have Free Will.
My Faith and belief system has a firm foundation in the concept of free will. Free will or agency comes with freedom of choice and responsibilities. I enjoy making my own decisions about my life so I share my great love a freedom with my fellow citizens of the world.
Choice is how I learn, I make mistakes then I repent of any wrongs I have committed and ask forgiveness. I pray for inspiration and listen for answers so my choices in the future will be better for me and those I come in contact with.

When I ask for forgiveness I am using my faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I respect the sacrifice made for us and know my gratitude is nothing in comparison to what he has done for me. I want to learn from the experience of life and I realize I will commit sins no matter how hard I try not to. When I make a mistake I want to remember not to cross that line again. I must change the natural man to forge a better self. As a human I know that through the process of humbling myself and admitting my mistakes I become more aware of my behavior. When I am aware of a fault I can change myself for the better. I also know I will not be perfect by any measure because I was not put here to be perfect. I was placed here to work on being the best me I can be. What I do know is my need for repentance and the necessity of my Saviors redeeming grace. I believe this is the liberal approach to living the gospel of Jesus Christ.

To change the person I am is the challenge; not the power to control or change others. Some of the conservatives I meet do not understand free will and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Some believe their salvation is connected to forcing their will on everyone except themselves. Faith and living a life of service is a personal choice and no man can force faith on another.
Since God, who knows all things, gives me the right to choose I am required to live the same law.

I could never see myself standing before my maker telling him how I made everyone else live according to what I believed to be true. If someone tried to force me to believe differently I would defend my faith unto death. We all live different lives and we all have our own agenda in this life. Acceptance and love is the message of the Savior. This liberal knows she is too imperfect to make choices for the rest of the world. I do believe I have a point of view that has helped me become a better person. If I live what I have learned, write about what the gospel of Jesus Christ has taught me I am sharing my testimony with the world.

Everything I read in scripture tells me it's all about bending my will to what the Lord wants. When I read the scriptures they teach me that Christ is the only one who payed the price so he is the only one worthy to Judge.

So that is what being a Liberal Thinking Christian means to me. Christ will judge and we will be rewarded for the love we give to our Father in Heaven. How do we show our love to Heavenly Father? We serve his children. His children are our neighbors, family, and the human race even if I don't like what they do.
